1. Who we are

Cosmetic Tattoo by Lorraine ("we", "us", "our") is a cosmetic tattoo, paramedical, skin and plasma fibroblast studio operated by Lorraine Nugent at 465 Oxley Drive, Runaway Bay QLD 4216. You can reach us on 0401 847 167 or at info@bylorraineclinic.com.au.

2. Bookings and appointments

Appointments can be made online, by phone, or by enquiry through this website. Your appointment is confirmed once we have accepted it and any required deposit has been paid.

A deposit may be required to secure your appointment. Where a deposit applies, the amount and how to pay it are advised to you at the time of booking, and the deposit is applied to the cost of your treatment.

3. Cancellations, rescheduling and no-shows

We ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer the appointment to someone else — appointments are long, and last-minute changes are difficult to fill.

  • 48+ hours' notice: you may reschedule and any deposit is transferred to your new appointment.
  • Less than 48 hours' notice, or a missed appointment: a deposit may be forfeited, or a fee may apply, to cover the reserved time.
  • We understand that genuine emergencies and illness happen. Please contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to work with you.

If we need to change or cancel your appointment, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer you the earliest suitable alternative or a full refund of any deposit paid.

4. Late arrival

Please arrive on time. If you arrive late, we may not be able to complete the full treatment within the time reserved, and the appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled. The full treatment price may still apply.

5. Consultations, patch tests and suitability

Some treatments require a consultation and/or a patch test before we proceed. A consultation is an assessment and a conversation — it is not a commitment to treat, and there is never any pressure to book.

Lorraine may decline to perform a treatment, or may recommend deferring it or seeking a medical opinion, where she considers it is not safe, not suitable, or unlikely to achieve the result you want. This is always in your interest, and we would rather be honest than proceed with something that isn't right for you.

6. Your health information

You must tell us about any relevant medical conditions, medications, allergies, skin conditions, previous treatments or tattoo work, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, before treatment. Some conditions and medications are contraindications, and some treatments require clearance from your doctor or specialist first.

Providing accurate and complete information is your responsibility. We rely on what you tell us when assessing suitability, and we may decline or postpone treatment where information is incomplete or where clearance is required.

Nothing on this website or provided in a consultation is medical advice. Our treatments are cosmetic and paramedical in nature and are not a substitute for assessment, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified medical practitioner. Anything that may require medical assessment — for example a changing mole or lesion — will be referred to your GP.

7. Age

Our treatments are available to clients aged 18 years and over. We may ask for photo identification.

8. Pricing and payment

All treatments are priced per session. We do not sell packages or bundles. Where a follow-up, touch-up or refresh appointment is recommended, it is a separate appointment that is booked and paid for on its own — we will always be clear about this before you book.

Prices shown on this website are indicative starting prices ("from" prices) and may vary depending on your individual case. The price for your treatment is confirmed with you before treatment begins. Prices may change from time to time; the price quoted to you at booking is the price that applies to that appointment.

Payment is due at the time of treatment unless otherwise agreed.

9. Results and expectations

Cosmetic tattoo and paramedical pigment work is semi-permanent. Skin, plasma fibroblast and cryotherapy treatments work with your body's own healing response. Because of that:

  • Results vary from person to person, and depend on your skin type, age, lifestyle, sun exposure, medications, aftercare and how your skin heals.
  • We cannot and do not guarantee a specific result, a specific degree of improvement, or how long a result will last.
  • Colour settles and softens as it heals, and most pigment work benefits from a follow-up session to reach its final result.
  • Some treatments — scar camouflage, for example — soften the appearance of a concern rather than remove it. We will always be honest with you about what is realistic before you book.

10. Aftercare

Aftercare has a real effect on your result. We provide written aftercare guidance, and following it is your responsibility. Results affected by not following aftercare — including picking, sun exposure, swimming, or using products we've advised against — are not a fault in the treatment.

11. Refunds and your rights

Because results depend on individual healing and aftercare, we do not offer refunds simply because you have changed your mind, or because a result differs from an expectation that was not discussed and agreed beforehand.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law, including that services will be provided with due care and skill. If a service we provide fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy under the law.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your treatment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss it with you — see section 15.

12. Photography and consent

We often take before and after photographs to document your treatment and to plan follow-up work. These clinical photographs form part of your record.

We only use your photographs publicly — for example on this website, in our gallery, or on social media — with your specific consent. You may decline, and you may withdraw your consent for future use at any time by contacting us. Declining will never affect your treatment or how you are cared for.

13. Products and gift vouchers

Any products purchased from us are covered by the consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law. Please follow the directions for use and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Where gift vouchers are offered, they are valid for the period required by Australian law, are not redeemable for cash, and any specific conditions are stated on the voucher.

14. This website

The content on this website — including text, photographs, and the results shown in our gallery — is owned by us or used with permission, and may not be copied, reproduced or republished without our written permission. Client photographs are published with consent and must not be reused.

We aim to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but it is provided for general information only and may change without notice.

15. Feedback and complaints

If something hasn't met your expectations, please tell us. Contact Lorraine directly on 0401 847 167 or at info@bylorraineclinic.com.au. We take feedback seriously and will work with you to resolve it.

16. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to section 11, our liability for any claim arising in connection with a treatment or these terms is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having the service re-supplied. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you book is the version that applies to your appointment.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
